 January 31st, 2010 - By Ray Bolte
As stated on the home page, many things have changed, unfortunately for the worse with PSMA, in the last two years. Issues regarding finance and membership, and lack of venues to host our events has caused a downward spiral for holding events, maintaining membership and the newsletter. Not all was lost however, the 2008/09 board of directors finally figured out a way to make money for PSMA and keep the organization alive with the Showcase Music Gallery Series held at the Damon Runyon Theater which has been a huge success! Right now, in 2010, the only event we have scheduled is the Music Gallery Series on May 22nd featuring the return of the Jazz Music Anthology Concert, directed by Carlos Crull and featuring Southern Colorado's Premier Jazz Musicians. All other PSMA events including Open Mic, The Acoustic & Electric Galleries and Benefits have been canceled until further notice. Also, our mailing address has changed. We are now using the Damon Runyon Theater address,  611 N. Main, Pueblo, CO 81003, where they are kindly collecting our mail for us.
At this point in time PSMA is going through a restructuring process where presently, there is no board of directors to speak of. There are just some die hard enthusiasts of PSMA, refusing to let the organization die! George Samaras has been appointed as the Primary Agent to bring PSMA back into accordance with our Bylaws and 501C3 operating procedures. Yes, we still are a 501C3 Non Profit Organization and we will remain so! Also, Dave DeCenzo has been appointed as the PSMA Financial Agent to take care of getting our bills paid. Also, Ray Bolte has stepped back up to manage the PSMA web site and is willing to help in anyway he can to help rebuild this organization. Other die hard enthusiasts at the January meeting were Vel Mattson, Tom Gieman and Bill Blackburn who will most likely be on the new board of directors for PSMA when the organization restructure is complete; hopefully within the next two months.

Stayed tuned to this web site on this Latest News page for updates and upcoming PSMA meetings.

George Samaras can be contacted at 719-994-8732 or emailed at gpsamaras@hotmail.com

Well, alot has happened with PSMA in the last few months and things are progressing with the monthly meetings and a bunch of ground work by George Samaras! With the core people acting as temporary board members are as follows; Vel Mattson, George Samaras, George Rivera, Peter Burg, Tom Gieman, Bill Blackburn, Dave DeCenzo, Ray Bolte & Bob Craig. A direction for PSMA starting over has been made, as to start out finding a venue to promote a bi-monthly acoustic gallery of sorts by September probably at the 5th & Main Coffee House, but this is not a for sure thing yet, work in progress. All the books and back taxes have been paid and squared away bringing us current with the state and city as well as our 501C3 requirements, George Samaras is now our Treasurer as well as our agent. We are now accepting new members, the membership dues is still $20.00 a year and Bob Craig has taken on the task of the membership duties. We have a new mailing address now which is 1006 W. 16th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003. This address will probably change again in the near future back to a new P.O. Box address, we will keep you posted, but for now use the 16th St. address. Our next meeting will be at Rawlings Library on August 9th at 6 PM. A new member (Steve Miller from Canon City) has offered to help update this web site, so look for some big changes coming soon on this web site. Also, it was decided to revive the newsletter which is being handled by Vel Mattson. Also, an acoustic jam/ open mic has been discussed as well, possibly at the 5th & Main Coffee House, we will keep you posted......

So, start sending in your membership dues (with contact info on the membership application on this web site) and lets start rebuilding this great organization..... We are determined to make it happen!

Things are moving along rather quickly this last month. First of all, a Songwriters Circle has been started at the 5th & Main Expresso Bar, 421 N. Main, every other Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 with the next one on August 9th. Secondly, we now have a real PO Box address again which is PO Box 483, Pueblo, CO 81002, so you can now send all correspondence there. Thirdly, a PSMA Acoustic Mic has just been established to start on Wednesday, August 4th from 7 to 10 PM at DJ Pizza and Saloon in Pueblo West and continue every Wednesday there after if all goes well! And finally, the first PSMA Newsletter has been created by Vel Mattson. You can download and view this newsletter in pdf format at the link below and read up on all the latest!      PSMA July/August/September 2010 Newsletter
