This year, once again, we are scheduling spots for performers at the state fair. The times available are as follows: 28Aug@2PM, 31Aug@2PM, 31Aug@4PM, 01Sep@2PM, 01Sep@3PM, 02Sep@2PM, 03Sep@1PM, 03Sep@2PM, 04Sep@1PM, and 04Sep@2PM. Call Doug Garvey at 719.778.4837 to secure a time.

On Friday, 22May2009, at the Damon Runyon Theater at 611 N. Main St. in downtown Pueblo, PSMA hosted the fourth concert in its family-oriented Showcase Music Gallery Series. "An Evening Passport to Jazz" featured Southern Colorado's premier jazz musicians as guest performers joining a base group of musicians with the whole show designed and directed by Carlos Crull. This Showcase Galllery jazz premiere will be filmed with the goal of creating a DVD of the performance. Tickets were $15 and $10 for reserved seating down in front and $5 for the balcony. As always, tickets were available from the Runyon box-office and any PSMA board member. Our next concert is being planned for early this fall and probably will be a "Country" oriented show.

A weekly PSMA Open Mic is hosted by Doug Garvey at Zippers Bar and Grill - 326 S. Union, Pueblo, CO every Tuesday night - 8PM until done or closing... Acts have ranged from solo acappella to pickup 8 artist jam bands. Each act gets gets 3 songs (up to 15 minutes total) and maybe a 4th song. Usually there are about 15 acts, first come, first served. The sign-up sheet is usually available by 7PM and full by 9PM. Be considerate - be prepared for your turn with instruments tuned. Donations accepted for the PSMA general fund.
